Are the Scriptures Trustworthy

With the growth of secular humanism in the fields of science, many people have come to accept man’s word over God’s Word.  They reason that the Bible is just a book by men and therefore is as fallible as men.  Others maintain that Scripture is the infallible Word of God.  What are we to believe?   Start with ‘what is scripture?’
Lets start with what Jesus Himself believed.  MK 12:10 Haven't you read this scripture: "`The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone'"  Jesus, when asking if they had read scripture, pointed to books in the Bible. This scripture in particular is from Psalms 118 but we see other places where Jesus quotes other books as well.  So scripture is made up of the books of the Bible.
Now, what are the books of the Bible?  The Bible is not simply a book.  Even the “books” in the Bible in particular, the New Testament are not truly “books”. They were not written as "the Bible" they were written as letters.  These letters were then sent to people or churches to teach them. These letters then became the Bible.  These letters are what Jesus refers to as scripture and again, scripture is the Bible.
What were these letters teaching? The word of the Lord.  AC 15:36 Some time later Paul said to Barnabas, "Let us go back and visit the brothers in all the towns where we preached the word of the Lord and see how they are doing."  So we see what they preached, which is what Scripture contain, IS the Word of the Lord.
What do we know about the word of the Lord?  PS 18:30 As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is flawless.
So, the word of the Lord is flawless, the word of the Lord is what the disciples preached, what the disciples preached is given to us in letters they wrote, these letters are called scripture and are now compiled in what we call the Bible. Therefore, the bible is flawless.
To further make this point, this flawless Bible tells us 2TI 3:16 “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”  And to be "thoroughly equipped for every good work" we must have the correct information.  If we are given false or misleading data, we are not thoroughly equipped for every good work.
If we are to believe Jesus, we have to believe what He believed.  If what He believed was wrong, then He was wrong and therefore not perfect and could not have been our savior.  He believed scripture was flawless.
