After standing up for my faith for many years against critics, I understand how hard it can be. How their constant attacks on you, your personality, your intelligence and your faith can wear on you. I hope this may be of encouragement to you.
Definition of scoffers and fools:
Psalm 14:1 The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, they have committed abominable deeds
Proverbs 1:22 scoffers delight themselves in scoffing
Proverbs 1:22 fools hate knowledge (Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge)
Proverbs 10:18 he who spreads slander is a fool.
Proverbs 12:15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes
Proverbs 14:9 Fools mock at sin
Proverbs 14:16 a fool is arrogant
Proverbs 15:5 A fool rejects his father's discipline (father = God)
Proverbs 17:24 the eyes of a fool are on the ends of the earth
Proverbs 18:2 A fool does not delight in understanding, But only in revealing his own mind.
Proverbs 28:26 He who trusts in his own heart is a fool
Ecclesiastes 7:4 the mind of fools is in the house of pleasure.
Matthew 7:26 "Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.

Why won't they understand
Proverbs 26:7 Like the legs which are useless to the lame, So is a proverb in the mouth of fools.
Proverbs 26:9 Like a thorn which falls into the hand of a drunkard, So is a proverb in the mouth of fools.
Proverbs 26:11 Like a dog that returns to its vomit Is a fool who repeats his folly.
Proverbs 27:22 Though you pound a fool in a mortar with a pestle along with crushed grain, Yet his foolishness will not depart from him.
Ecclesiastes 10:3 Even when the fool walks along the road, his sense is lacking and he demonstrates to everyone that he is a fool.
1 Corinthians 1:18 For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
1 Corinthians 2:14 But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.
John 8:43-47 Why do you not understand what I am saying? It is because you cannot hear My word. You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies. But because I speak the truth, you do not believe Me. Which one of you convicts Me of sin? If I speak truth, why do you not believe Me? He who is of God hears the words of God; for this reason you do not hear them, because you are not of God."

What will happen to fools and scoffers:
Psalm 49:12-14 But man in his pomp will not endure; He is like the beasts that perish. This is the way of those who are foolish, And of those after them who approve their words. Selah. As sheep they are appointed for Sheol; Death shall be their shepherd;
Proverbs 10:21 But fools die for lack of understanding.
Proverbs 14:18 The naive inherit foolishness
Proverbs 18:7 A fool's mouth is his ruin, And his lips are the snare of his soul.
What we are to do with fools and scoffers
Proverbs 14:7 Leave the presence of a fool, Or you will not discern words of knowledge.
Proverbs 23:9 Do not speak in the hearing of a fool, For he will despise the wisdom of your words.
Proverbs 26:4-5 Do not answer a fool according to his folly, Or you will also be like him. Answer a fool as his folly deserves, That he not be wise in his own eyes.
Matthew 10:14 If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that home or town.
So, when you see those that are just here to be pains and cause strife, when you reveal the truth to them over and over yet they persist in their blindness, try to not respond with resentment, anger or attack. Teach as long as you can, and when you can no longer teach with gentleness, give them to their disbelief.
