Is the Creation Story Just an Allegory?

After years of indoctrination, many people are so convinced by textbooks that science has proven millions/billions of years that they no longer believe God’s Word.  To some, this is shown in a total loss of faith and rejection of God.  Some try to fit it in a Gap or change days to ages.  For myself, it was treating Genesis and most of the Old Testament as an allegory or as I put it, “a poem with a point”.
However, if you eliminate everything that relies on dating methods, evolution has no evidence.  And if you accept evolution as true, even theistic evolution (which I use to be a die hard supporter of), you turn God and Jesus into liars.  Here are what THEY think of the Creation account and the accuracy of Genesis and the Old Testament.
GE 1:31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning--the sixth day.  2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array.
God says creation took six days.
EX 20:11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day.
Again He says six days with a seventh day of rest.
EX 31:17 It will be a sign between me and the Israelites forever, for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he abstained from work and rested.' "
I think He thinks He did it in six days…
Mark 10:6, ‘But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female.’
According to God, people were around from the beginning of creation, not billions of years after the beginning of creation.
Luke 11:50, Jesus says: ‘That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world...

The blood of the prophets (Able) was shed since the foundation of the world, not billions of years after.
Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
And we have SEEN His work since the creation of the world, not millions of years after creation.
ISA 40:21 Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood since the earth was founded?
We have received His instruction from the beginning when the earth was founded.  We didn’t start getting it millions of years later.
RO 5:12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned-- 13 for before the law was given, sin was in the world. But sin is not taken into account when there is no law. 14 Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses
Sin entered through one man, Adam. Death entered through sin. So since death entered through sin, death could not be around before the first sin.
1CO 15:21 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22 For as in Adam all die..."
Death came through Adam and the original sin, not before.
MT 24:37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark;
If Genesis isn’t true, then this prophecy is speaking of a future event that is only as true as what it is qualified by.  If that is untrue, so is the prophecy.
MT 12:40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
If Jonah did not spend three days in the fish, the same fate would befall Jesus in the grave… Nothing.
AC 7:10 and rescued him from all his troubles. He gave Joseph wisdom and enabled him to gain the goodwill of Pharaoh king of Egypt; so he made him ruler over Egypt and all his palace.
God seems to also believe the Genesis account of Joseph.
MT 8:11 I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven

Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as Wells Fargo Services Co.
MK 13:19 because those will be days of distress unequaled from the beginning, when God created the world, until now--and never to be equaled again
Yep, God created it!
These verses show that God said it was six days, God told Moses it was specifically six days, Jesus said that man was alive at the BEGINNING of creation, Paul was told man was around since all was created, Isaiah said we were here since the earth was founded, Paul said death did not enter the world until Adam sinned, Jesus believed in a literal Noah, global flood, Jonah in the whale, Joseph and his dreams, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and most importantly, creation (all literal events in Genesis).  You can't merely "allegorize" one part of one chapter to condone evolution.  You have to do away with what God said, what Jesus believed and taught, what the great prophet Isaiah spoke, Moses, Joseph, Jacob, Abraham, Isaac, Jonah and Paul's teachings to do it.  What's left?
Lets say We threw out Genesis or called it "allegory".  What then?  Well, we still have God's word to Moses that it was six days in Exodus.  So lets tear that out too.  But Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, 1 & 2 Kings, 1 & 2 Chronicles, Nehemiah, Psalms, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Hosea, and Amos all refer to the Sabbath which says comes from God saying it was six days.  Out with them.   The prophet Isaiah says man was around since the earth was founded.  Oops, tear out anything by Isaiah.  Paul says death didn't enter the world until sin did.  But if life was here a few billion years before Adam, have to tear out Paul's books too.  Jesus says that we were here since the beginning of creation, not to mention all the references to Genesis He makes as literal.  So He's wrong, tear out the Gospels.  But all the other NT books talk about Jesus as perfect, so they must be wrong. Riiipppp...  That leaves about 20 books of the OT left, but I'm sure we can eliminate a few of them for claiming God doesn't lie or deceive us.  Pretty soon, We'll be down to just Ruth.  But hey, it makes reading the Bible much easier.
